Beignets and Easter eggs...

Henry is less than a year old, and he has already completed two Crescent City Classics (last year while still baking), probably more than a large percentage of locals. Ryan and I also participated in our second Crescent City Classic, this year we both walked the race, pushing Henry. At one point, I did run, I ran ahead to buy beignets. I passed Cafe Du Monde during the Rock and Roll Half Marathon, I was not going to pass the opportunity again. Surprisingly, I was the only person in the place with a race bib on, I surely would have thought someone else would have the same idea, I was mistaken. But as the woman in front of me said, "You earned your beignets." Yes, yes we did.

Can't really see it behind the stroller bar, during the race, someone gave Henry a stuffed bunny rabbit.

Still too young to carry his Easter basket and hunt for eggs. Instead, we put him in his Easter basket! Next year, little man, you will be an expert Easter egg hunter!

Thirty, Burgers, and Beer...

Today is Ryan's birthday!! Not just any birthday, the BIG 3-0! Yesterday we celebrated with a burgers and beer party. Yummy burgers, plenty of beer, and lots of friends. It was a successful celebration for Ryan's 30th birthday.

Happy Birthday, Love!

Ryan and Henry had on their matching polos.

Time for the ice cream cake!

Double digits...

Henry is 10 months old! He was pretty excited for his photo shoot.

And a few more, reading with Dad and playing with a wrapping paper roll…

Beignets at Mile 10...

We survived our first half and full marathon! Ryan ran an amazing full marathon and finished strong. As I neared Mile 10 and spotted Cafe Du Monde, I resisted the beignets and finished my first half marathon!

I must say, for running 13.1 miles (26.2 for Ryan), it was actually pretty entertaining. The crowds of people were encouraging, the music along the course was fun, and the signs people held were humorous. My favorite was a woman on St. Charles (popular street for Mardi Gras parades) holding a sign that read "Worst Parade Ever."

Even though I still insist I have an allergy to running (and dislike running), I am willing to battle my allergy and run this half marathon again next year. Love, take this as your opportunity to sign us up, only if you want to. :)
